Divinópolis, in the central-west region of the state, will receive the actions of the + Pecuária Brasil program. The project is supported by the Municipal Secretariat of Agribusiness, the Confederation of Family Farming (Conafer) and Alta Genetics, an import and export company. The initiative aims to benefit family farmers with access to technology in livestock production.

With the arrival of the program in Divinópolis, the goal is to benefit cattle ranchers from the entire region, contributing to agribusiness and the economy. “We know that agribusiness is like the heart of the economy, both in the region and in the country. Therefore, enabling cattle ranchers to have access to this type of genetic technology is a big step for the area,” said Amélia Branco, Director of Agribusiness in Divinópolis.

+Pecuária Brasil has already reached more than 500 Brazilian municipalities, supporting livestock farmers with access to technology for genetic improvement for herd insemination. According to Conafer, approximately one million pregnancies are expected by 2025 with the provision of semen and supplies necessary for insemination, as well as monitoring of pregnancy. “The program guarantees the distribution of annual doses of genetic material for this insemination of herds, for a period of four years, in addition to providing all the technical support necessary for these producers to effectively develop their herds,” pointed out Carlos Lopes, president of the Confederation.
