
The production of temporary crops accounted for the largest number of jobs created in the agricultural sector of Goiás from January to September 2022. Between admissions and dismissals, the balance was positive in 8.158 vacancies. The data was released this Wednesday (26) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), through the General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Persons (New Caged).
Soybean crops and sugar cane alone created 2.232 and 2.229 jobs, respectively. The crops of garlic (1.562) and other plants (1.083) also recorded expressive performances.
Still according to Novo Caged, in the first nine months of the year, the Goiano agricultural sector created 11.759 formal jobs. With this result, theThe state has 121.940 active employees in the field.
“In other words, Goiás’ agribusiness currently employs more than 120 workers with formal employment contracts,” explains Tiago Mendonça, Secretary of State for Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. “In 2021, there were 110 workers, and in 2020, 103. This performance demonstrates the solidity of the sector. Despite the pandemic and the war, we have not stopped generating jobs and ensuring the social and economic development of the state,” he highlights.
Outside the “Production of temporary crops” group, according to the Caged classification, the “Activities supporting agriculture and livestock” stand out, with a balance of 3.212 vacancies, and “Livestock” itself, with 1.380 formal jobs created from January to September. “Horticulture and floriculture” accounted for one thousand jobs created.
