Closing an Instagram account that is open on another device may be necessary to protect your privacy and security. Here are the steps to do it efficiently.

    1. Access the account from the device you have control over

Open the Instagram app or use a web browser on the device where you still have access to your account. Log in as normal.

    2. Check active account sessions

In your settings, go to the security option and look for “Login Activity” or “Active Sessions.” There, you will see all the devices and locations where your account is logged in.

    3. Close unknown sessions

If you find any devices that you do not recognize or that you want to disconnect, you can log out directly from this option. This will log you out of your account on those devices.

    4. Change your account password

To prevent others from accessing your account, change your password immediately. Create a strong password that combines uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

    5. Temporarily disable or delete the account

If you'd rather just pause your Instagram presence, you can temporarily deactivate it through your browser. To permanently close your account, follow the deletion process on the official page.

    6. Confirm that the account is secure

After you log out and change your password, log out of your account on all devices. This way, only you will have access to it.

    7. Strengthen security with two-step authentication

Turn on two-step authentication to increase the protection of your account. This requires an extra confirmation every time someone tries to access your profile.
